Verona

Another unknown Verona is waiting for you!

About us / the Progetto Musa Antiqua

Our Association is born from the awareness that there are alternatives to the conventional touristic image of Verona. The massive exploitation of artistic resources that can not be reproduced (typical cases, the Roman Arena and the Juliet’s House) is the result of a short-sighted vision: we think that it is no longer possible to rethink the future of our city from its gorgeous cultural potential. We believe that it is possible a policy of enhancing the florilegium of the many little-known monuments, some of these are unfortunately in a serious state of degradation. An almost endless list that serves to become aware of what our ancestors left behind. We want to start from here, from a Verona wrongly named as less famous, but whose places live in their own light and where historical reality overcomes the false fantasy of myths a bit worn. Our dream is that these pieces of an extraordinary architectural and artistic mosaic come back to life and they to be restored. For our part we want to raise awareness of Italians and foreigners enthusiasts, through alternative guided itineraries aimed at getting to know the Beauty and the Magic that Verona generously offers even and especially in the most secret corners. With the hope of a bottom-up action, with the involvement of owners of historic houses, hoteliers and all those who believe in this project. Finally, a dutiful appeal to local institutions: using European funds can be a valid option for the chronic lack of public resources. We all start to roll up our sleeves: is a duty to our beloved Verona…
